Does This Look Funny To You?

Hey there loyal reader.  Just need your help for a quick second.  I look at this blog all the time and you collectively look at it… well… at least sometimes.  In any case, I’m futzing around with things back here which will hopefully make things better.  You might have noticed the EXIF Info (the stuff about how the camera took the picture like shutter speed, etc.) looks different.  I did that.  Here’s where you come in: it’s quite likely that in doing this, I’m gonna break something.  Will you let me know if I do?  blog at aribrownest dot com, or a comment here should do it!

  1. I noticed one thing. In the EXIF data table there is this extra td with some nbsp’s in there that give it an extra padding albeit somewhat random. It looks different depending on the aspect ratio of the image. Maybe you could limit the width of that table to the same as the post’s text content (580px)?

  2. I was checking it out in firebug. By adding table.exif{width: 580px;} to your theme’s stylesheet I was able to have all the exif data appear to be uniform with the related text posted below. You could play around with that width to get something you like. You’d probably have to do some sophisticated php hackery to get the table’s width to be on point with the image. Hopefully it works out!

  3. Thanks Marcus – I’ll see if I can make it play nice. My CSS and PHP are kinda… um… minimal would be putting it charitably.

  4. Check out the firebug and webdeveloper plugins for firefox. They can help you figure out what needs to be changed and also make changes on a webpage’s css locally so you don’t have to change it on the site live, fingers crossed.
